1.34.9 is online and includes several improvements to the training system and a mission status overview of your progress.

It also includes support for a new mobile payments system and animated progress bars to make stat changes more visible. The friendbar will now also update every 5th minute and we have fixed a number of small bugs on the test server as well.

As for the training system, the update includes the concept of having a max skill training proficiency. This means that you are only able to train your skills to a certain level without the help from any trainers (a max training skill cap). To increase your max training skill cap you will need to find trainers across the 3 maps who will teach you new exercises thus unlocking a new skillcap. You only need to visit them once and the further North you venture out the more likely you are to find a high level trainer.

If you have training facilities in your safehouse these will also help you increase your training proficiency depending on the level of the facilities. A fully upgraded facility will allow you to increase your training max level to the cap of 200. Thus you can simply stop by your own or a clan members fully upgraded safehouse to instantly increase all your max training cap if you don't want to explore the map for trainers.

As for the use of your safehouse and its facilities, we have several interesting features coming including a squad management system, which will make training facilities more important than ever. More info will follow as we get closer to that update which will be sometime after the polishing of training and the advanced combat features we are working on.

How does the new training system work? (recap)

In order to improve your skill you need to accumulate training points by training. Training reflects how you chose to spend your idle time on your journey around the city.

You can chose to train for different intervals. The shorter "bursts" of training you complete the more skillpoints, the more efficient is your training time. Each training session awards you a certain number of points.

As you get more and more skilled the requirements increase. Thus training a skill from level 23->24 requires much less time than training a skill from 164->165.

The requirements needed for each level is currently being balanced, based on the input we receive.

Re: A new version of ZP is online with the 2nd phase of the training system revision and a mission overview

I don't like the new system for training. I feel like it allows for an unfair gain in stats by people who have time to sit at their computer all day to train every 5mins as opposed to previously where everyone regardless of how much time they were online had to wait 10hours. It makes it fairer for people like me who log in once a day. I also dislike how you can train your character without having to find a place to train.

Re: A new version of ZP is online with the 2nd phase of the training system revision and a mission overview

I think that this "update" may have killed this game for me. The only way I can see for me to continue to enjoy playing, is for me to discontinue all training immediately & rely solely on the points received at "level-up". I am very disappointed with this.

Re: A new version of ZP is online with the 2nd phase of the training system revision and a mission overview

I agree with the majority. The training sessions are way TOO EASY! I thought the game was for a quick play averaging 15 minutes and to be more "REALISTIC"! Instead, the developers seem to be catering to the instant gratification crowd and losing their long term players.

How about finishing some of the LONG PROMISED additions like the rifle scope and stand/bipod, area weapons, mines etc. that I have been lugging around for over a year!

The constant tweaking seems to be hurting the game more lately than helping.

You have done a great job on the graphics, etc. but the combat system and training updates hurt more than help.

THANKS,

RaubRitter

Re: A new version of ZP is online with the 2nd phase of the training system revision and a mission overview

I agree, I prefer the old 10 or 24 hour method of gaining skill points, with the requirement of beginning the training only at training facilities, and having to remain at that location during training. It makes logical sense.

The system wasn't broke so why such a paradigm shift "fix"? The only thing I could think of to improve from the previous system was increasing the training times required to receive higher level skill points. It would annoy me but at least it would keep with the "realistic" nature everyone says this game has.

Re: A new version of ZP is online with the 2nd phase of the training system revision and a mission overview

Why, zp team, why?
As said by clu_2, and I quote, "I agree, I prefer the old 10 or 24 hour method of gaining skill points, with the requirement of beginning the training only at training facilities, and having to remain at that location during training. It makes logical sense."
The training system was perfectly fine, then this update comes out...
Pretty please, with a cherry on top, bring the old training system back.
(Also, it would be more 'realistic' if you trained inside a safehouse/trainer, rather roaming the streets doing missions, looting, or killing zombies at the same time, if you're trying to bring realism into the game...)
Not to offend you, ZP team, and I'm sorry if I did, but you've done a great job with Zombie Pandemic...
Your friend, Ares.
I just hate this update.

I agree with everyone before me.

It just doesnt make sense to train a skill to lvl 199 I just now need to spend over 60hours of traing. Its insane.
Please remake the trining as it was.

Re: A new version of ZP is online with the 2nd phase of the training system revision and a mission overview

Blimey so many negative people and comments!!!! Should we not be pleased that changes are happenning and on a regular basis. Lots of stuff being improved and the skill levels so what if you can max after 60 hours, lets be pleased we have a dev team who improve the game and listen to constructive feedback. I get sick of hearing all the negativity and moaning, ok everyone is allowed an opionion but the same moaning over and over again.

Although I appreciate the effort with the training and think its something different. One problem I have found is that I cannot seem to access the missions on 6,144

Re: A new version of ZP is online with the 2nd phase of the training system revision and a mission overview

I dont like the training that much I like the skill cap and having to see
the different trainers but not the training on the move thing but the mission overveiw is good. I want to see the training on move feature removed and wnt more new items add to the game and the Dev's to fix some more of the bugs and more of the advanced combat system features added.

Re: Farmville Pandemic

I can agree with the scaling of training times, where getting to 10 strength is much quicker than getting 100 strength. In fact, I encourage it because there needs to be a sign of progression and increasing difficulty to stop people from bulldozing there way to a maxed-out character.

However, it is painfully clear that the most efficient method of raising these stats is the 5-minute training option. And I see that as tactic used to keep players constantly in the game and having the game constantly in their mind. I understand that this is in the interests of keeping players active, but it reeks of Zynga and Farmville by encouraging the OCD-ish behaviour of constantly rechecking the game. This extends gameplay, but with tedium and monotony instead of fun and satisfaction.

Certainly, this new training system will keep new and OCD-prone players playing, but observant players may identify it as something exploitive, lowering their good will and incentive to stay with the game. Also, I am aware that the 5-minute option is not compulsory. Every player could just as easily pick the slower 6-hour option and opt for slower skill progression.

But just seeing that 5-minute option there, to an observant and critical player like me, it makes me feel less like a player and more like a button-clicking sheep.

Re: A new version of ZP is online with the 2nd phase of the training system revision and a mission overview

I love that the Dev. Team is all the time adding something to the game. But I fill that well... I hate to say it but your being a little lazy. what with well tweaking the system. I like the trainers. But as far as the farmvile game play on the training part. Also the lack of needing a safe house to do this. Its just so far from real. That it made me sad. By me saying getting lazy I mean there is a whole heap of stuff that you guys can be adding. Like scopes, sounds, animations, fullscreen mode, the look out towers, giving us something to do with the 6 pound zombie head that you shove in to are inventory without are agreement. But never the less. Like the man before me posted. I see were you wont the players to come back more then just one time a day. But im sorry you have built this game for players that only come back 2 or 3 times a day and that's just the way the game is played. I think that you can see that almost all of the older players dislike this. So I hope you can work something out with us on this and I think that you will because. Well you have yet to turn us away.

Re: A new version of ZP is online with the 2nd phase of the training system revision and a mission overview

Hi all. Must say I really do love the game, came upon it through bigpoint, where I was playing another free beta game Drakensang. Only reason I mention that game which is essentially a WoW clone, only free, well only initially it seems now. Well I was online every day for 3 hours for 45 days in a row and then they started messing with the training and abilities system.. I hope y' all don't mess up something that seems and was perfectly fine. Simplicity is what makes games great in many ways nowadays. My wish list for zp: sound effects, new music(love current just more of it), fullscreen, more unique quests and items... I do love this game subscribed last night!

Re: A new version of ZP is online with the 2nd phase of the training system revision and a mission overview

I'm really sorry but this update was an extreme disappointment and I think, very detrimental to the flow of the game.
You just took out every reason there was to build safehouses and I know that my clan (Special Action Force) worked really hard to build them. We have engineering teams to work on safehouses and we've spent a LOT of money buying materials for building. Now it seems that all we need for a safehouse is a level 3 entrance.
Please have the old system back! ):
(You guys do an awesome job with ZP though, sorry for such a negative post.)

Re: A new version of ZP is online with the 2nd phase of the training system revision and a mission overview

i agree with the rest of these people this game is one of the most realistic zombie survivals ive been on and seriously thou i agree with PYDCWes comment you spend so much time fixing the menu bar and adding things like you did with this recent "update" u made it less real :C really like PYDCWes said you should add rifle scopes and bipods more weapons and weapon upgrades/updates cause id really like turn a simple rifle into a long range sniper
