From a legal standing, yes, due to these :
They weren't taken from any registered game.
They weren't copyrighted.
There are no visible logos.
The site i received them from (google images) said nothing of copy rights.

Was somewhat worried when this appeared as the 3rd result on google images. However, it does appear to be free for use. (Provided that ZP is considered non-commercial)

Copyrights are a bit more complex than this.

It's very nice of you (and the several other beta testers) to submit pictures and artwork to the project however due copyright issues and several other issues we have decided no longer to accept submissions.

The only way we can guarantee no one rights are violated and a keep consistent style is by redoing all the artwork ourselves. It will take some time in this beta process and yes there is a lot of the material to this date which can be improved but similar to the process of redoing the NPCs & PCs we are working on it.
