Does strength boost the ammount of damage you do with a melee weapon?  If it does, then by how much?  And close-combat determines how accurate you are with melee weapons right?  Is the close-combat attribute the stat used when you are using a ranged weapon in close-combat?

Yah close combat does your range skill. Like I had marksman 50+ and if a zed got 0 distance from me I would have like 51% to hit. Now Ive got my close combat up to 30 and its like 73% to hit em. So close combat is for anything close I guess. It does seem that strength should affect melee damage. Maybe not thing like daggers and spears, that could be agility, but like sledge hammers, and clubs and stuff it should be strength and close combat combo.

Strength is used to defend against close combat attacks. For both zombies and players. It does not affect the damage done but it increases you carry capacity.

And yes, you use the close combat skill to attack when distance is 0, even if you are using a gun.

Adding a bonus to damge based on strength would make sense.

For example +1 damage per 10 points of strength, as a stronger person will obviously hit harder than a weaker person.

Either that or add a strength requirement to weapon. A weak person wouldn't be able to swing a sledgehammer for long, but Mr Universe would be able to wail that sucker all day long!

    @ Fizco

Very good ideas. Makes since and its is realistacly logical. It would be nice if strength gave a multiplier in some cases. Like if you crit on an enemy, you could get double or tripple damage becuase your so strong.

then you should add agility, the more agile you are, the better you should be able to swing it and hit critical

yes i agree on CarlBreder, strengt should increase damage, while a formula with agility and closecombat defines the critic chance

and some weapons depend on agility to damage, most cutting weapons wont need strength because it only does this and this much damage.

    blunt weps= Strengt

    Cutting weps= Agi
