i believe that aside sewers and metro there should be also rooftops as a set of small separate markins on the maps
being a big modern metropoly it is impossible to move through the whole city on rooftops, but some areas should be passable

also with the help of alpine equipment player should be able to access higher storeys of barricaded buildings, for quests, scavenging and setting up a safehouse

climbing building should be a trainable + buyable perk, with the below story

when you enter a roof you notice a man standing on the edge of the building
"what i'm doing here? i'm surveying the neighbourhood looking for scalable places and escape routes
when pandemic hit, it caught me on the street, my first instinct as a mountain climbing instructor was to climb to the lowest nearest balcony
i saw people getting eaten banging on the closed doors
later on when zombies started to spread out, i moved though the rooftops to my apartment, the most dangerous were the intersections as i had to run on the ground when they weren't there
from there i got my climbing gear and since then i have been scavening barricared apartments, you see, they almost never barricade the windows on higher floors

can i teach you? well, with my expertise you can gain 1 point in 10 hour training, but i need some food/ammo/medicine etc in return
come, i'll show you the roofs
    obligatory poll

sounds like a well thought out plan and a very good addition to the game

    Loved the idea. +1
We all die as we are born. We always find the end before the beginning. If to live means to continually search for wisdom, we'll find the end waiting after our last lesson. To finally see the subtlety of the end and understand it completely is what it means to die. We cannot help ourselves from growing wiser. Those who are helpless to their search for knowledge are those who cannot transcend death.

When A Person With A BIGASS SNIPER RIFLE Climbs On Stuff,Things Get Interesting. There Should Be A Sniper Combat System. If You Have A LongRange Rifle You Should Be Able to Snipe From Atop A Building Where They Can't Attack you And You Can Keep Killing Them Until They Are out of sight.

I like the idea but it should take several items, like 2 stem packs and food that equals 20 for him train you.

    Awesome~
    especially the item trades

    here's an idea
the amount of SP you'll be spending from rooftop to rooftop depends on your climbing stats
    1 climbing stat = 4 sp
    5 climbings stats = 3 sp

    etc etc

    +1 Yes.

This Idea makes a lot of sense why defend the ground floor by barricading multiple points of entry when you can secure one, the roof top stairs. Moving from building to building should be quite easy maybe some plywood over the gaps and BAM a bridge.

For Buildings with much bigger gaps in between them( we are moving to a more graphical map).
Ladders strung together could work, thats how some expeditions cross huge gaps on the trek to Everest. Agility stats should be a small requirement.
With a Solar Powered Flash Light I promise you will never be without Illumination.
