    Scavening
lots of small useful items with jackpots from time to time (11)
     92%
    always jackpots (gtfo) (1)
     8%
    as it is now (0)
     0%
since people are displeased with the recent changes, i'm making a topic for it

scavenging used to be imbalanced, generating massive amount of loot for high level players

    i disagree with that statement

in fact, it was the money generated by the zombies that made those fortunes

until i was scavenging systematically (at the previous, and i meant the 1/80 for m16 odds), i killed very little zombies so 1k per day was enough for my ammo, and in 3 weeks i had armor vest, m16a2, aa-12, 40 stimpacks and 50k in a bank .. around 90k at the previous odds
then those were nerfed to 1/1000, but at the time i discovered that killing zombies pay far better
since i started killing zombies professionaly i spent 3k daily on ammo, and in 35 days i had minigun, 160k at the bank, 130 coffeine pills, so about 375k
from around 4k a day to almost 11k +50 levels

now thankfully the zombies drops are nerfed, will be changed to scavenging bodies later on, ammo price is adjusted, but the scavenging is ruined
i don't know what the current payouts for scavenging systematically at map 1! are, but they must be drastically lower than my initial 4k on average
paying for ammo is 2k roughly now if scavenging my way(swat, apc, military, police, humvee), so you barely make enough to defend yourself, right?

now, i wonder whether it adds a sense of desperation or frustration
people are used to getting rewarded, so initial response would be denial, but i wonder whether it doesn't add the desolate feel

the safehouses aren't threated yet, so there is little point, aside getting gear and leveling, in either killing zombies and scavenging, i think this is a real problem
i think people need to change their mindset from hunting to being hunted
it's a beta, so we will have these rough transition periods for a while

i disagree on you found nothing policy though
we need to find SOMETHING to give us feeling of accomplishment
it may be cheap but should be useful in some situations, it must have some place in surviving the pandemic
currently there aren't enough items of that nature found .. yet

another thing is contents matchin the container, with a small chance of jackpot, traffic cones should only be found at roadblocks and contruction sites, and teddy bears in children departments and abandoned apartments

i agree with Rhys on special containers being rare and having desirable odds instead

    obligatory poll

It's late in beta too, a a lot of us have gotten used to playing a certain way, and we tend to complain when changes make us uncomfortable, force us to do change our own approach. Old players who have hung around grumble a lot. They also get heard by devs who get to know us and our preferences. And its late, I'm guessing the devs sould like to put certain parts of the game to bed. (You want to stay up all night again talking about SP? Didn't think so) That doesn't mean, though, that a rough transition period isn't worth enduring, and that mindsets shouldn't be changed. I'll agree that some aspects of the game needed the nerfing <is that the correct term?>, and that we all need to change our focus from being hunters to being the hunted.
I would like to see more situations where one of the small items (folding knife, scissors, wrench) is required to succeed. Think of the situations where techie skills are required: wouldn't a real techie reach for a toolbelt and say, "Where's my allen wrench"? Think of having to bash down a door: wouldn't the job be easier if you equipped a prybar? In each case, teh player would not only have to have the <whatever>, but put aside his weapon and equip the tool.
In fact, I would rather see these items listed as other and not as weapons at all. But write in some uses for each of them, please.
Yes, Rhys had a good point. If i didn't say so then, I'm saying it now.

Found nothing should be changed to "found useless junk" that you collect enough of and use it for a schulpture to sell to an art collector.

With the recently released update we have introduced new attack types and new combat effects. It's important to stress that this is still the early phase of the planned advanced combat system which will also include a much more graphical interface and loot from killed opponents as well as being able to equip bayonets, scopes and other extensions to your weapons. Here is a short guide to how it works.
