Sgt. Caelyn for the NYPD.

Mauser SR over her shoulder, Sgt.Caelyn walks quietly along the sidewalk. Keeping close to the walls, watching for any movement.
Over the last two days something more than static had filled the radio - a couple of survivors had contacted her - there is hope.
Peering through the rifle's scope... So that's where that damned gunfire is coming from. Gang members, what a waste - she takes careful aim.
One less threat in the city. "As if the undead weren't enough."
Night is closing in, and Caelyn must report her findings to the Dpt. - a suitable Headquarters must be found, will be found.
(sighs) "MR Radio Station - this will do for the night... tomorrow I'll hunt."

It's still a bit hard to coordenate or pretty much do anything with this beta version, but we are trying to get the best of it, exchanging locations and tips and whatnot, and hopefully find a suitable HQ.

"Tonight I decided to try the Ferry dock at 54/23. Paul had said that it was empty of living things. Then again, Paul is dead, so I'm following my gut and going there."
"The dead man was right. Not a living soul. Still, there was a small pistol amongst the pile of rubish - this will give me some much needed coin. Not as fancy as that rifle I sold, but... I'll get some food and essentials out of this."
"Not evil. Not evil. Not evil... today I shot another child - a boy. Do I care anymore?"
"Static and more static and a third call - another survivor - a woman. She seems to handle herself pretty well - writting as we speak... gunfire. Crap... Horde. Cael."

Mikazuchi made her way back to the police station. She didn't know why she felt the need to go. Maybe she just wanted to be some place familiar. She had been a police officer for years and it pained her to see the station in such a state. Abandoned and broken she made her way through the front door. Once inside the stench of death hit her like a blow from Mike Tyson. You would think after a while you would get use to that smell but you never do. First she check for survivors but there was none. Next she stopped by her desk and rummaged through her personal effects. She took her badge out of the drawer and looked at it. She had wanted to be a police officer since she was a little girl. It may be nothing but a paper weight now but she put it in her pocket as a memento. Next she regarded the picture of her boyfriend sitting next to the martial arts trophy she had won a couple years back. She took the picture and placed it face down on the desk not wanting to remember. She knew he was dead they had been talking on the cel phone. She can still remember his screams as he was eaten alive on the other end. She snagged trophy she had worked so hard for and put it in her pack. Next she went to her locker she had left her personal gun and wanted to retrieve it. It was a Beretta 96 that her father had given her as a gift for graduating the police academy. The locker was pried open and the gun was gone. She sighed. Everyone knew that she kept it there. Someone probably in a desperate situation took it. With no reason left to say she said goodbye to her past and left. She stayed longer than she meant to she would have to hurry and find a place to stay for the night.

(thanks everyone we don't have a HQ yet. We have just begun to send messages to each other on what we are doing, locations to find stuff and such... but when we do, we'll post it here. Mikazuchi - awesome! ;D)

"I ran as fast as my legs could run - no, faster. At every step they begged me to stop, don't do it anymore, just give up, but my mind was with me: 'It's the lack of sugar, honey - you still have enough gas - run, run!'. I darted inside a ruined building and went up it's stairs. My whole body crashed against the closest thing it couldn't see - a wall. And there i remained, motionless and trying the impossible - to hold my breath, to become invisible.... The size of that horde! They seemed like a wave, an undead mass progressing towards me. Mental note: Until I reach a safe house - a proper(!) safe house, the radio will remain off."
"Awareness: A few breaths after and I had slumped towards the floor and leaned against that wall (or maybe I just crashed - I can't remember). A warm, ugly tasting beer on my hands - 'ah, the expiration date has passed...' I remember some witty remark on the meaning of life. I'll give it a raincheck."

Also, if 2 or 3 groups (that are Allies) have their HQ nearby to each other, they could keep some sort of area defense - a triangle or something, and help each other when the zombies swarm in.

I decided to take the afternoon off from eating snowballs and doing pushups + lifting weights and turned on my radio in order to broadcast to the other few NYPD members out there.

Static was again killing me, but they got my message alright - It's time for us to find HQ. We need a base of operations, a refuge, a sanctuary and a home.
We will prevail.

Hope and Mercy

I was training at the Mercy Hospital for 10 straight hours, I spent most of the time in the treadmill and stationary bicycle hoping to improve myself so I have more chance of evading the undead gotta save some bullets cause these bullets ain't cheap. I see other survivors start their physical training some of them will endure and a lot of them will quit. Good thing I have my iPod to keep me company, that day I played the playlist I used for my grandpa's birthday last year. Good thing he died peacefully before this outbreak happened and he doesn't have to experience the horror. [Staying Alive by Bee Gees playing on the iPod]

I'm praying that my family and friends are doing good and some place safe and if they are here stuck in this city I know they are also fighting for their lives. I received a message from Sgt. Caelyn welcoming me as part of NYPD and it made me happy. I've realized that why hope if you be can be HOPE. That day I vowed to help others who are in need and help the city restore it's former glory and all I have to do is just stay alive for the meantime. [fading chorus of Staying Alive]

There is a hotel at 10028:10011. Great place to set up a clan's HQ. Inside there is lobby and two floors, so it's quite spacious. I don't remeber if it's already occupied ba any other clan, but it's worth checking out.

From journal of NYPD officer Miles:

I finally got some time to write a few words. The barricade looks strong and I can't see any staggering figures outside. I'm safe, for a moment. Everyone may ask themselves - what's the point of writing anything, with all this hell happening in the city? I don't know. Maybe it will just help me to stay sane, keep me away from all these madness which spreads as fast as this infection which animates these walking bodies. Or maybe, if I'm not going to make it, someone will find these few sheets of paper and thanks to that, my struggle for survival wouldn't pass unnoticed. I hate this feeling, that everything I've done until now, was for nothing, but I haven't got delusions - the situation is critical. We can't deal with it, one thing what's left is trying to stay alive in a dead-ridden world. Just like human rats or roaches.

Right now, I'm all alone. Few days earlier, me and other officers had fought our way out form the police station. We've been locked out there for week, but lack of food forced us to go outside. I don't know how we suceeded, these walking bodies were everywhere out on the street. We just run as hell, all guns blazing, taking out as many as we could. I didn't even notice when Davies went down, surrounded by at least dozen of these rotting bastards. The same day we found grocery store, the only one which appeared not to be looted. When Kennedy and Pete went to check it out and didn't come back, it was clear, what kept scavangers away from this place. We decided to move on. At this moment there were only three of us left alive. One of us, officer Rivers, decided to check his home on the other side of the city. I guess he had in mind safty of his family, more than ours. But we followed him, anyway. None of us was thinking about survival on his own.

Two days later, on our way to the house of officer Rivers, an incident happened. It left it's mark on my conscience and haunts me even today. While slowly walking throught the one of the streets, we ran into another people, and by saying it I mean another LIVING people. Our joy quickly disappeared when we saw, how two of them hold another man at the gunpoint and rob him out of his supplies. The world was going down, but law is law and as the police we were obliged to uphold it. We decided to intervene. Short gunfight occured, which left unlucky man (shot by the bandits immeadedly, when we shouted "NYPD!", just like during old times... I guess old habits die hard) and one of robbers dead. The other one threw down his pistol and gave up.

"What we're supposed to do with him?" asked officer Southley, the youngest of us, red headed man, who had bad luck to start his duty exacly at the same day when the infestation started.
"We can't lock him up." Rivers stated. "Should we take his guns and let him go?" he asked me, but he already knew how we were supposed to act. He just didn't want to have a blood on his hands. I can't blame him.
"You know we can't do it" I replied. Right then, the robber started pleading for his life. But it didn't worked for him.
I'm not making any excuses for executing him. It just had to be done, if we would let him go, he might attack other survivor again. However, I feel less humane. I guess you can't kill an unarmed man and be yourself again. What's more grim is the fact, that I might be forced to do it again. Protect and serve. Whoever invented this motto, he surely didn't expect that someday NYPD would do it's duty in a world where most of human population is dead and trying to eat those, who are still alive.

I heard the scratch at the door. The dead probably found me, so it's a sign to move on. I'm heading to the colleage campus, in the early days of crisis, while defending the police station we've received a radio transmission from there. It seemed that army set it's camp out there. I hope they're still holding up...

Yes, it does start to get to you after you have killed a few hundred zombies
