    So
    weight&strenght (8)
     100%
    random numbers (current) (0)
     0%
since zombies don't have vital points aside brain, i suggest that melee damage will be calculated accordingly to weight of the weapon and strenght
with little strenght the weight will actually work against you
the higher strenght, the greater damage but also the higher loss of durability

piercing weapons deal very little damage because of the above, aside for piercing eyesocket (should be optional target)

slashing weapons also, since zombie don't mind bleeding, aside cutting off the head (should be optional target)

crushing weapons are the real deal

heavy swords count as both slashing and crushing

    chainsaws are exceptions

also i would like to nominate below for ultimate melee weapon:

should deal very little damage with little strenght

From a physics point of view the weapon damage can be better calculated using the formula F=ma or force = mass x accel.
That being said a weapon that is 10 kg having an acceleration of 10 m/(s) squared will have a total of 100 Newtons of Force.
You will get the same end result if the weapon is 5 kg and accelerating at 20 m/(s) squared.
Strength is a separate variable that can increase the total damage force.
So weight, strength, AND agility should determine the weapons damage force. That is if you want the game to be a little bit more accurate.
    Aim for the head!

Congratz on [-Rookie Zombie Slayer-] kemeD ^_^

And I always want to have strength as a contribution for melee damage and of course weapons' weight.
I wonder if an extremely high level player with 9999 strength (plus 9999 agility if required), can he hit a zombie with his sword as hard as a sniper rifle bullet on the face?

By the way, kemeD is that the Dragon Slayer sword in Berserk manga?

    yup, that's the sword

    Lurchdeath
thanks, i always sucked at physics ><
i thought that you need strenght to have the weapon go faster, but it might be agility instead
