comics and the show are totally different. Daryl doesnt even exist in the comics,,,,yet.

Yeah, there are a lot of differences between comic and show, but man...show is so good, we can overlook them

Also, it adds a spice to the show. If you read the comics (like I have), you have an expectation on what is going to happen; however, if done right and altered like this show has, it can leave you wondering about the direction the show is going and make you want more.

But either way, I hope they add my girl in there because Machonne in the comic was awesome.

Also, did you know they wrote a spin-off book for the Walking Dead that describes the rise of the Governor, a character those who have read the comic are very familiar with.

yeah i wonder if they can add another bad ass like daryl dixon in the show.

AMC ( American Movie Classics.....the TV channel broadcasting the show) will be airing new episodes in Feb. but I'm on pins and needles waiting for the next episode

OK.... so I LOVED the first season, and the first episode of the 2nd, but after that it was ALL downhill....

Seriously- who, in a post-apocalyptic zombie infested wasteland, would spend DAYS looking for a little girl who is most certainly zombie food? (If I remember correctly, the poll on "Talking Dead" said 100% of the viewers that took it, WOULDNT afterall...) I have a heart and would help my fellow man, woman and most certainly children, but really... 2 days at MOST and thats it! (And you KNOW if there was blood thirsty zombies around every corner, especially in the spooky woods, YOU would most certainly NOT spend days or weeks looking for a lost child who is regretfully and sadly lost...
As for the "negotiating" with the good Doctor about if they can stay or not... WHO has the power? WHO has the guns? Sh!t.... If I wanted to stay there, there would be NO discussion... I mean really.... there no human laws anymore. Survival of the fittest!
But seriously, it was SUUUUPER slow this season.... I was rather dissapointed.

OH! And nevermind the fact that a small boy survived a gunshot to the abdomen- it looked like it was right below the right lung- right into the liver, pancreas, colon and large intestine...
NOW, I understand its a movie and all, but their goal is realism, yes? So lets talk about hunting rounds-
Typically hunters use a frangable 30-06, 30-30 or heck, even the .308. ALL of them are very powerful rifle rounds- for example... the SCAR-H uses a .308 for the love of God- talk about a punch!

The 30 odd 6 (30-06) which is my personal fav, and took most of our boys through WWII (Most of our G.I.'s - *God rest their Souls* - were equipped with Garands that shot the 30-06 and put many-a-Nazi in their graves) absolutely has the knock down power to take out Bambi's Dad, the moose next it and a little-bitty boy after that.... If it was a FMJ, which I suspect it was due to the bullet wound, that boy would have been dead, ballistically speaking. Theres nothing short of a miracle (which may have happened, Im not denying!) that would have prevented that boy from dying...

I LOVE The Walking Dead and all things zombie, but c'mon....

only Daryl was really looking for the girl.Everyone else was just mooching off the farmers.In fact if they didn't find the farm house im pretty sure they wouldn't be wasting there time looking for a stupid girl, who can't follow simple instructions.I really wanna see how she died in a webisodes or w/e.i mean come on why couldn't anyone help rick when he went to chase the girl.how about her tranny mother ...my god..what does she have to lose its her her dam daughter.
.but she just cries like a u know what and yells at rick for trying.

As for the bullets i don't know anything about that.maybe it was a miracle.

The messed up part is that ALL those people, especially the old man KNEW they had the girl they were looking for in the barn...

Daryl brother was a bad ass i don't know to many people who would cut off there own hand and still be worth anything. as for the boy being shot he should have been dead were he got hit. im in the army i've seen a lot of people get shot and he should not have made it to the farm at all. i love the show so im glad he made it but if your going for realism he should be dead.

you all have to keep in mind thw bullet went through a sizeable deer first. That slowed it down to where the penetration into the boy was minumal.

As for Real Life, Everyone knows they would have taken over the farmhouse by force, but there is no ongoing story there.

the deer would have slowed it but it was a high caliber so it still would of had a lot of power left. I had to watch the Episode a few times to make sure but the kid was real close to the deer slowed or not he was dead. ive seen a ive seen 30-06 and 7.62 go right through the kevlar vest we wear at work even with the plates in it at 100 yards. those rifles have alot of power.

the farm house them taking by force who would not take it a place that has not seen that much of the dead would be a great place to wait it out. but there is no story if they stayed

I agree that the boy would of died, but the show is following the comic and that is ok i guess.
I am actually happy that the makers of the show is not strictly using everything in the comic. I hate knowing what's going to happen next, and I am happy they are using some creative thinking when it comes to plotlines.

I REALLY want to see Merle reunite with his brother, but with the season playing out very slowly, I bet 10 bucks to a donut it will be next season, probably a finale before Michael Rooker (Merle) makes his return. And I am very sure that he's going to be p'd off something horrible. Maybe he will force Daryl into a "us vs. them" type of thing, or maybe the one handed man turns out to be "the governor" from the comic.. speaking of which, the gov. did lose a limb... maybe i'm onto something?

Anyway, I really didn't like shane much in the comic. But I do like shane in the show. IMO he is actually a better leader than Rick, and I really hope they don't follow the comic's script when it comes to them. Also, I think Daryl was a really big hit with the fans. He is easy to relate to if you live in a rural area or the south (like me) and since he was the only person who actually had hope to save sophia, it shows that he does have a heart- unlike Merle. He is my favorite character next to shane. If they get killed off, then the writers killed the show for me at least.

I don't think Shane is a better leader then Rick tho. If they follow him they will become cold blooded killers and soon rape would follow. Anyone who opposed him would get shot. The old man was right about him, Shane was made for that world. He couldnt make it in a group. Just him or him and 1 more is the way his leadership would end.


So wonder who the 2 guys who stumble into the bar are going to turn out to be? friend or foe?

The Walking Dead is such an amazing show. I´ve enjoyed every second of it. Sadly I haven´t had a chance to read the comic book yet, but i will as soon as possible although i´ll probably miss Daryl a lot when i do. I believe he´s my favourite character at the moment.

Just like other people have said earlier; i´d love to see when Daryl and Merle reunite.
I really liked the scene where Daryl where hallucinating about his brother and how the hallucination of merle pretty much provoked him to keep on going.

It could never be made as a film, the idea of making a tv seris is perfect as allows time to develop and understand the charectors. Have been watching seris 2 online as not aired in uk yet and it is amazing.

Sure sucks to be Dale, that was a horrible way to die. How will the group survive without its "moral concous" since dale is gone?

Yeah, to be fair I agree; on one hand it was just the shock m aybe the show needed, but on the other hand, with characters so underused like T-Dog literally not doing anything and not even appearing for three episodes at a time, it just makes me furious that they didn't just kill off the chuff instead of an actual mainstay of the comics.

That being said I know that Jeffery DeMunn was having issues behind the scenes, and considering he is one of Frank Darabont's favourite and most used actors, we all should have seen this coming when Darabont began to work on something else...

Incidentally, wouldn't it be awesome if Daryl's brother Meryl ends up being revealed to be the Governor? I know it would never happen but to be fair there has been some forshadowing...

I think it's hard to figure out just what the motivations of a 'broken' man simply are, but refering to what I saw in this episode, and also judging on what happened in the comics I believe he just planned to use Randel as an excuse to kill two birds with one stone; he felt Randel's death would save the group and at the same time he knew that they'd most likely split up and that Rick wouldn't trust him accompany anyone else. This suggests some level of preplanning, and I guess there's only on conclusion; he was going to kill Rick, and most likely blame it on Randel, regards of how weak the plan actually was...

i can't wait for season 3.they are following the comics main plots, but changing it up a bit.
