currently the zombies stand like lamp poles unless you attack them, or are inactive for x minutes
i thought that the distance between you and the zombies should be dynamic, zombies coming closer or further away
that's why AJAX has to be up first, refreshing whole page every 10 seconds would be a pain, a REAL pain
also scavenging container would change your distance between the zombies, and you might be attacked
why 10 seconds? it's a timer i made up
a turn takes 10 secs, after that you miss a turn and zombies make their move
right now you can leave your char during combat and go for a marathon, your sp will conveniently fill up and you're good to go
with 10 sec timer, you'll be a lump of chewed bones if you leave in the middle of the combat
running out of sp will be very troublesome (once we have some death penalty, that is)
if a zombie wanders near you (how near depends on the zombie), he will attack you and a rest of the group will follow
once you start shooting, you will have 1 minute before the other zombies come and attack you
the general idea is that you're not supposed to stay long in one place
if you travel through the city, you have to do it fast
this adds a sense of tension and urgency this game lacks
