While Common Sense has said a lot of things good about DF, allow me to give you guys some reality check. Note what I'm about to say is only the current state of DF as of late.

1. Despite the numerous classes, there's only 1 or 2 professions that are actually useful, this excludes alts and don't get me started about the Police Officer.

2. The game suffers from lag, it's actually more risky playing multi than solo.In fact, you may have more trouble with technical difficulties than you with zombies.

3. In spite what Common Sense says, the game is actually 'easy' in the sense that all you need to do is avoid getting close-up and personal. Heck, some smartalecks even go loot runs to the most dangerous areas (known only as Death Row). Some even do puny knife attacks on behemoths just to show how osm/easy it is to kill these zeds. You likely die more of lag than anything else.

4. I don't believe the game is newb friendly at all as far as I first observed. The game can be very misleading, like how your first weapon is a handgun but practical use of guns won't be until level 30 or so. Blunt weapons are actually better because of thing called 'aggro'. Before you realize that, you'd probably had waste tons of cash on bullets as well as meds and food. And no, the game actually requires you to read a guide from someone else, unless you want to be reckless and disappoint yourself months later on. It is in fact 'hardcore' gaming than exploring.

And yes, you have to be careful even in the forums because some people are very strict even though some are just as retarded. In fact I see a thread made by a retard for retarded purposes and someone said 'that's not right', they flame him, called him a mod lapdog and even these retards defend this retard for retarded reasons. Short: Not all tips and tactics info is useful, some are just trolling and are just misleading you.

5. Yes there are a variety of missions but only 2 of those missions are practical- Courier and Exterminate; Research is debatable and the rest are crap loads of waste of time. Some you can't even complete at all because of a blocked building! I'll face palm if you try a Capture mission way too early before Death Row.

6. Yes you can level up fast but unless it's your alt, who wants that? Keep in mind you need to upkeep higher meds and food as you progress which means you'll be broke if you're not prepared. Getting Strength is misleading too; it's your weapons that actually do damage; other than your crit. Loot would actually be more of a priority.

7. Once you are in the inner city, it's go or no go, because as I've learned even if you pause the game, the hunger still ticks so you either finish what you're doing or forget it. Also, you cannot pause at all in a multiplayer (obviously) Yet this is another element of hardcore.

Overall I commend Neil Yates for a very good game but the community itself are jerks which is very sad. Coupled with some bugs, the game has yet need more improvements to work on but I'm more concerned about the community since everyone is acting like a know-it-all ass dictator who claims 'his way' is 'the only way' and poor newbs get baptized by fire everyday or quit which I'm not surprised to find a lot of them would be here.

The main downfalls of DF are generally monotonous gameplay and technical bugs. The other agenda are those elite 'NEET' gamers who have stopped playing for fun and just bully others with their intellectual superiority; a common byproduct of hardcore gaming. If not that, some are just harassing the newcomers and supporting the harassment.

Well, hanno, I think this game may be directed towards wannabe-gamers who only play games that aren't really actually real games like farmville, mobwars, and any other game you can find on facebook/myspace/social networking sites. The people who want to be games but only play for like 5 minutes a day so that they can say they are a gamer. This sickens me and is a disgrace to the gamer culture.

Wow you're right Common Sense it really does sound alot of fun, so what were those interactive features you told me about again? I wonder how much gold I'd get just for padding post count.

I'll agree that DF is an osm game and I respect that but I will not agree that it's better than ZP because different gamers have different needs.

There are some who prefer to help other people in the game.

There are some who prefer to be challenged by the game.

There are some who prefer to beat other people in the game.

There are some who prefer to be flashy than other people in the game.

Now we each have a different way of doings these things.
Case in point? It's alright for you to advocate DF here, I dunno about the other guys posting here though would be sympathetic as me but when you start saying 'ZP sux' in a ZP forum, well...I leave to you to imagine cause and effect.

And before you completely ignore and look down on my tl;dr post, ask yourself this basic question:
"What is a game?"
I'm sure everyone would have a different answer for this.

ZP itself need a lot of polishing and tweaks...
Once it is done, I will consider on the game a little more...

Dead Frontier is a half finished project. You can see what the creator was going for but there are loads of bugs and grievances that need to be addressed before it is a truly good game. One of the biggest problems I have found in the game is the credit system, if you want all of the upgrades than you either spend half your life time gathering up enough cash to buy an up grade or spend hundreds of dollars of real currency to get the upgrades. It has potential but the creator left the game just floating, at its core it has barely changed when it first came out.

Urban Dead ended up doing the same thing, it just floated and had very little change since its inception.

Zombie Pandemic has a great deal of change, when an worthy input is placed by a beta tester we see change fairly quickly. Think of how many things changed in four months in this game. If you are a lover of zombie games, this game is quite the rare opportunity. Some players helped with the artwork, some helped with combat, some with avatars, features, items, and the list goes on. The developers actually care about us here in a way that we can throughly see. I never seen the same care by the other developers in the other games.

Comparing these games (DeadFrontier vs ZombiePandemic) is going to create some competition on which game is better.

First off, why're you comparing them? How did this come about; DF and ZP are totally different kinds of games.
Is it because they have zombies? And they're on the PC?
That's not much of a reason; Urban Dead has zombies, too. Where's the arguments for that? It's -text- based, much as this game is.

If there's any comparisons to be done with, ZP should be compared to another text based game. DF is more flash based and hence in terms of actual active gameplay, ZP can't win that.

On the other hand, DF suffers a harsh community (there's even a thread there that teaches you be a troll) and doesn't offer much improvements since I heard DF is focusing on 3-D, leaving the current game dead on water. Not yet to consider are the still prevalent game bugs.

I would rather compare ZP to another text-based game. Themes will come in naturally, but gameplay and balance are harder things to consider which we are at this current stage now.

Personally, I prefer to compare to another game, not Urban Dead since it's has already won that award. I apologize if this is advertising a bit but check Kingdom of Loathing or KoL for short. You could even google it and find it there. It may not be a Zombie Apocalypse themed game (although some years ago they DID had one) but there's plenty the Dev team could learn and study from Jick and Skullhead by the game layout which they could incorporate into their own game. Take note that the game itself is simplistic having mostly black and white with nothing but stick figures but it does have a very strong fan-base.

^Got it right. It is comparing apples to oranges. The two games have greater dissimilarities than similarities.

I am amazed Zombie Pandemic can create so much controversy in the first place. I don't know too much about the context of this thread, but did a troll from Dead Frontier come to this site and start the controversy or was it the other way around? Or is something else entirely?

Dead Frontier is great. I think ZP is a good game too, I only like DF more because I don't like Text games very much.

Dead Frontier brought me here after I saw an advertisement for it on it's site.

Dead Frontier is now 3D if no one play it, kinda fun though.

I'm sorry, but as for which is better, ZP or DF? I'm going to have to stick with DF, for the simple fact that I would rather see a 3D model of a zombie attacking me rather than a picture of the zombie and a picture of my own character standing side by side.

It boils down to a matter of choice, I played DF and the graphics and I give props to the dev team of this game.
Call me bias, but I'm a 100% ZP Fan because what this game provide is imagination, it's like reading a book and you're in charge of the story. In addition, ZP is bringing new stuff on the table.

But I think there's no reason to fight over who's better/best. We can compare but I think exchange of not so nice words is unnecessary.
