Safe House Generator Rooms

    I'm not sure if someone has already started a thread on this topic (I haven't checked ) but since I recently formed my own clan and have started building a safe house, one question keeps coming up in my head while I'm clearing space and building up the rooms.....
    ....how many generator rooms should I build for optimal electrical output?

    In real life, one good-sized portable gas genny will power a modest house. Two will make good for a three story, two family Victorian house (depending on engine size/displacement for electrical output). One diesel generator MIGHT handle the basic electrical needs for two Victorian houses or one fair-sized mansion.

    ....but, for the needs of a safe house in-game, how many would I need to meet the electrical needs for every room in the house?

    A Generator L2 located in the central 'room' in the safehouse floorplan - will power the top two rows in your safehouse, giving you eight open powered rooms for new facilities. This should be more than enough to keep a smaller clan happy. Note that once a room has received power you can build a facility in that room to any level and it will remain powered. Also note that upgrading the Generator will knock all facilities offline until the Generator upgrade is complete. Also upgrading another facility will knock that individual facility offline until the upgrade is complete.

    Will the genirator still power up all rooms if it is in the top left corner of the build page? It's a level 5.

    Faolan: Yes. It powers by horizontal rows, I believe, starting with the top. Each level of the gen powers another row. The location of the generator makes no difference.

    On this point:
    Has anyone built more than one generator in a safehouse?

    I want to put in a 'backup' in case of Zombie burglars while I go on long treks northwards.

    At the present time, it is not possible to build more than one Generator room in a safehouse. Once the first generator room is built, the option to build new generator rooms goes away in that safehouse. This kind of thing is always subject to change without notice, since this is open beta.
