I want a wolf with bags in its side and a remote rifle on it's back!!!(Impossible...)

to aim it: yes
to make it work: no

I'd just go for a wireless robot mounted with a SAW

A robot is not a pet. That's more of a tool. Pets show love and affection. Robots do not. Not even the Terminator.

About infected/mutated pets... what kind of zombie outbreak are we talking about? I'd rather not see special infected or mutated animals, for that kind of stuff I'd rather play RE or L4D.

It'd be cool to have a pet, but giving them "special abilities" sounds a little bit Lineage 2. A dog or a cat could alert us about incoming danger sure, but an eagle "spotting" enemies for us just sounds dumb... unless you taught it how to write morse code... uhmmmmm... lol

I think that a pet is logical. Think about it, there are lots of strays running around. And, it can like protect you in a battle against zombies. Remember that german shepard in 'I Am Legend'? That would be awesome! Maybe even have a pet bear at the entrance of safehouses as protection. Members will have to feed the bear or it will run away.

Pets should have special abillities indeed. I think that there should be pets for additional damage, luck boost for scavenge, you know what i mean! =D It could be a major improvement to the game, only there would be no need to wash or brush it xD. I mean, I'ts not Nintendogs for the love of God :3

I agree with this. You could have different classes.

Combat class, ravens, Dogs, wolves,bears,,
This class would give you additional damage and allow you to take more damage by the animal taking a hit for you when your down to 25% or less in HP

Scavaging class, raccoons, monkeys, ferrets,,,
This class would up the % of finding loot and better the value/class of loot found

Outlook class,,, Hawk, Owls, lemers
This class could drop the % of being cornered into a fight and alert you of danger

You can have animals die, you can have animals get better and have more HP/Abilities with time, But they must require mantinace in the form of food, housing, and interaction. To keep them sharp you have to spend XX amount og SP doing something with them per 5 days or they wonder off etc etc etc

This is actuly a good idea but what if pets get bitten and become zombie animals like zombie dogs
anyway if we do have pets they should give us different bonuses and to make it realistic we will need a pet hunger system or something like that good idea
