I played the first and second. I never got very far because I was like 13 back when I first tried those games. My dad was into all those style games. I played the first ones enough to get the references in 3. Even the pistols and stuff look like the old school items. I have never went back and tried to finish one though. I have finished 3 of course. I did play Bualduars Gate on the pc. (sorry for spelling) I remember that game being very scary. I loved sneaking around rooms in an Inn, and stealing little nick-nacks and stuff out of the dressers and closets. I would even role play sometimes. I know it was single player but I'm like that haha. If I stole something out of somebody's house, and they seemed poor, like a lone farmer or someone, I would leave a few gp in the items place. I wish games could register stuff like that. Like that npc would go to use that item and be like WTF it gone.. O.o But here is 10 gp. XD

I bought one and two and enjoyed them thoroughly, although I never finished either of them. Suppose I've been exposed to one too many next-gen games to return to those classics and remain focused on them long enough to finish them.

Can't count how many times I've beaten 3 lol. Never could find Dogmeat though...

I never played 3 and I don't really want to all that much. To me it's just a downgrade from the original series. Only thing better then Fallout 1&2 is Planescape:Torment, and wouldn't want to see PT all buffed up one day. There is something quite charming in the way these games are done, prob' cause the designers are trying to make up for the lack of flashy graphics with good, sound story. And then they make a legendary game. I prefer legendary to stay legendary and contain that same feeling, that good ol' same smell. Never liked Heroes beyond 3. Never liked Red Alert beyond 2. Same goes for Fallout.

I'm a huge fan of the entire fallout series. I loved one and two, and tactics was superb ( though I wish it had just been a remake of 2 ). My personal favourite, though, is Fallout 2. I DID like fallout 3, but felt that it was a step in another direction from the first two.

I'm hoping fallout new vegas will be a step back in the right direction. Not sure how much you guys know about it's dev team, but for fallout 3 development was handed to Bethesda through Zenimax. However, fallout new vegas is being made by Obsidian Entertainment (a new development team with a couple of members from Black rock, the company that made the original fallout 1 & 2). I'm hoping this will mean we can have fallout 3 esque graphics and fallout 1 / 2 gameplay.

Fallout 2 is my favorite of them. Fallout Tactics is pretty cool too. I liked Fallout 3 as well, but miss the turn based gameplay of the originals.

Yes I have, and enjoy them a lot, but what does it have to do with zombies?

Gouls are humans turned imortal through extreme exposure to radiation, thus zombified. Some turn ferral and attack anything that moves, including humans.

I bought the fallout trillogy, so far Tactics is the one I've had the most fun with. Too bad FO3 and New Vegas only have a fraction of the weapons that the older ones have. I'm still hoping they release a Gauss Minigun or M2 Browning in a DLC add-on.

That's if you're counting Fallout Tactics, I'm thinking; It had the most guns, yet the least "Fallout" gameplay. All combat, half the story, and most of the weapons were out of Fallout-timeline.
    Oddity : Not a single 10mm weapon shows up. Only quickly-replaced 9mm.
My suggestion : Take the weapons from FO2, and add more back in.
New Vegas made me smile when they reintroduced the original Plasma Rifle, and they have a spiritual successor to the 14mm pistol, the 12.7mm. However, the reintroduction of the old .223 pistol would slay me. I would shed manly tears of Heaven.

I've been really enjoying new vegas. I think it's such an improvement on fallout 3, and it's got a wonderful diversity throughout the game. It's hard to imagine when gambling in the strip that there's also a wide wasteland just outside the door and vice versa.

    @Zyle77

If you mean the Blade Runner .223 pistol it IS in New Vegas. It's a special gun named "That Gun" because a developer called it "that gun from FO2". It's in the closet in the Novac dinosaur. Buy it from the guy, buy the key to the room for 77 caps to steal it, or pick the lock to steal it when he's gone to bed. It's covered by plastic dino's and rockets.

I recall, but the Fallout one is more accurate to the source material (the LAPD pistol). I don't think they ever said it's caliber. Fallout 1 and 2 used it with .223, making it probably the singular best pistol. Fallout NV uses the 5.56, and doesn't entirely match. Quoted from the Fallout wiki itself : " This version differs, however, in that it has one trigger instead of two and a generally more weathered and rounded look."

Fallout =/= Zombie Games. Fallout is Survival.

Fallen Earth =/= Zombie Games. Again...survival.

Survival overlaps the zombie genre...but the two are mutually exclusive & shouldn't be confused.

    Word.

First appeared in FO1, mind you, as a quest reward.

I can remember a better pistol; the alien blaster (seriously, that thing's crazy).

    No zombies either.

If you're going to play it that way, the .223 isn't a pistol either, its a small gun. :p

Actually the 223 is a rifle round and it's the civilian version of 5.56. I have also played some of the Fallout games. I have played Fallout 3 & New Vegas. I have all the DLC for FO3 and. I like Fallout New Vegas better. Better weapons more possibilities. Not to mention that I went through the game on Hardcore mode. That was a pain. I had a harder time with the gouls in New Vegas then in Fallout 3. All in all I like New Vegas. Can't wait to get the DLC's. And yes I know this is an old thread. Deal with it.

Well for one, your doing it wrong xD that is no friendly bump, that is asking for trouble. No need to be rude about it

Secondly hardcore mode wasn't hardcore, it was more annoying than anything, and ghouls are harder in F:NV because they are harder they have more armor and HP than the F3 ones.
