What happens if I choose to become a zombie?

According to this forum the play-as-zombie feature is still in development, but when I die, I see a link for becoming a zombie. I'm curious, what will happen if I click it? How will I be able to come back to being a normal human player afterward if I want to?

This is a feature clouded with mystery. The ZP Team has given few details when it comes to being a zombie, but here are some things I can inference: You will likely fight NPCs, as the ZP Team stated that they want to focus on co-operative gameplay, not PvP. When they stated that you could be revived from being a zombie, they said "when another player revives you", so it is likely other players will help you turn back into a human. Since it involve dying, it is unlikely it will be much of a reward, since you don't want to die, now do you?

What I was asking is "what happens NOW if I click that button?" I have recently found out. The answer is "nothing". It just gives you a message saying that it's a dummy button and hasn't been implemented yet. So now we know.

Beta version 1.31.19 is live

Beta version 1.31.19 is now live and includes mostly several bug fixes related to new signup frontpage and ingame styling. It also includes a few game balancing adjustments including slower advance range for a number of zombies and 2 new missions available at the city zoo on map 3.
